Faux Painting
Faux painting or faux finishing are names used to describe decorative painting techniques which attempt to replicate the appearance of materials such as stone, marble or wood. The French word faux means “false.” As such, these faux techniques started as a way to replicate with paint more expensive natural materials like marble and wood. Over the centuries, faux painting has expanded to many other decorative finishes for walls and furniture including simulating other recognizable surface textures.
Ori Avisar takes great pride in his faux finish work. Through years of experience and experimentation he is able to accomplish some pretty spectacular effects, including leather looks.
